Skiing and Snowboarding

Superb Skiing in Popular Ski Amadé

Skiing in Ski Amadé provides great moments of skiing and snowboarding. This is one of the largest ski regions in Austria, boasting more than 760 km of ski slopes, 270 lifts, 210 km of well-maintained cross-country ski routes of various levels of difficulty and for both styles, sledge routes, snowboard parks, ice rinks, trails for horse-drawn sleigh rides and much more. All of these in 5 ski areas and 25 ski resorts. The ski areas around Altenmarkt are suitable for families with children, beginners and also experienced skiers.

The closest skiing area from our HOUSES is the Radstadt-Altenmarkt Ski Resort just 2 km away. Furthermore, there are Eben Resort, which is 3 km away, world-famous Snowspace Flachau located 4 km away and the famous Zauchensee Resort, 9 km away. Other well-known ski resorts nearby are Wagrain, Reiteralm, Filzmoos, St. Johann im Pongau, Schladming, Dachstein and the iconic Obertauern. The nearest resorts can be reached by Ski Bus or car. The Ski Bus stop is only 50 metres from our HOUSES. For beginners, there are easier slopes and training lifts available in almost every resort.

The big advantage is that one may ski in many resorts with just a single Ski Pass, i.e. in Radstadt-Altenmarkt, Flachau, Wagrain, St. Johann-Alpendorf, Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl, Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl, Eben, Filzmoos, Goldegg and others... If one likes, one can ski in a different place every day. For beginners, we recommend simple slopes with practice lifts near the lower stations of the valley lifts.

From Altenmarkt, the resorts of Radstadt-Altenmarkt, Zauchensee, Eben and Flachau are reachable by the free Ski Bus. The high-altitude location of all these resorts guarantees great snow conditions from late November until the end of April. Hospitality is provided with tasty snacks for skiers in huts and snow bars. At the Après Ski Bar, you can take a break and savour something delicious after skiing. Mountain log cabins and pubs boast amazing delicacies and typical Austrian hospitality, combined with the inimitable atmosphere of the Alpine environment.

For cross-country skiers, there are 210 km of well-maintained cross-country ski routes of all levels and difficulties, for both classic skiing and skating. Advanced cross-country skiers can try the 8 km long Olympic route or the more difficult 12 km forest route leading from Altenmarkt to Zauchensee.
